As an associated partner of the MAST project, the Universidade da Madeira (UMa) Funchal, Portugal, will work mostly through its innovation institute, the Madeira Interactive Technologies Institute (M-ITI) as full partner of the project, but participate also through the academic programmes at the department of Informatics Engineering and Interactive Media Design or UMa. Most faculty of this department are researchers at M-ITI, where the research activities and interface with industry are implemented. In the context of the MAST project, faculty of the department will contribute to WP1 by implementing MAST in its Masters of Interactive Digital Media program (MDMI) tasks 1.2, 1.3 and validation 1.4. MDMI is an innovative two year graduate program that engages students in the design of transformative experiences and development of technologies for change. Thus, UMa will contribute to the implementation on its programs of the Curriculum (re)-design, implementation of the teaching methodologies and it testing. It will also be a platform to explore possibilities to develop common mobility models and programme-level exchange with the project’s (academic) partners.
